How the Test of the Day works

Why a randomized daily test beats one fixed test

Taking the same practice test on repeat teaches you the test, not the material — after a few passes you're recognizing answer patterns rather than reasoning through the clinical scenario. A test that's rebuilt from scratch every day removes that shortcut. You can't memorize your way through the Test of the Day, which means every score is an honest read on where you actually stand.

It also surfaces blind spots you wouldn't find on your own. A test bank of 19,622 questions spans every NCLEX-RN content category — safe and effective care, health promotion, psychosocial integrity, physiological adaptation, and pharmacology — so a daily habit naturally rotates you through areas you might otherwise avoid studying.

Why sign-in is required

The Test of the Day is only available inside a free account, which is what makes the day-by-day tracking possible in the first place — each day's 50 questions and your results are tied to that day specifically. It also means this content isn't crawlable or indexable the way an open practice page is; this landing page exists so you can find and bookmark it, then sign in to actually take the test.

Frequently asked questions

How many questions are in the Test of the Day?

50 questions, randomly selected each day from a bank of 19,622 NCLEX-style questions covering every content category on the NCLEX-RN test plan.

Is the daily test the same every day?

No. A new 50-question set is generated every day, so the mix of topics and scenarios changes daily. This helps surface knowledge gaps you might miss by repeating the same fixed test.

Do I need an account to take the daily test?

Yes. The Test of the Day is only available to signed-in users, which is also what makes tracking your results from day to day possible.

What happens to my past daily tests?

Each month's daily tests — 30 or 31 of them, depending on the month — are cleared out at the start of the next month, and a fresh set begins.

How is the Test of the Day different from the full practice tests?

The full practice tests on this site are fixed sets organized by category with worked explanations you can revisit anytime. The Test of the Day is a randomized, rotating 50-question set meant to be taken once a day as a quick, varied check on where you stand.

How long does it take to complete?

Most students complete the 50-question daily test in 45 to 75 minutes, depending on how much time is spent reviewing rationales along the way.
